LAPIP 2.0: Taking LAPIP to the Next Level

LAPIP is a predictable, cost-effective, patient-friendly procedure for the treatment of peri-implantitis. However, there are times where other procedures, such as soft tissue grafts, can be incorporated into the treatment plan while the LAPIP procedure is being performed. Understand when the LAPIP protocol is or is not indicated, and when it should be delayed. This talk will look at these scenarios and give the practitioner some guidance to move their LAPIP procedures to the next level.
Incorporating Laser Curriculum in a Postgraduate Program in Periodontics

As technology advances, the mission and challenge of dental schools is to evaluate and educate the dental students in those advancements. UCSF was one of the first dental schools in the US to incorporate laser curriculum into their predoctoral clinic, and the first one in California to incorporate the LANAP/LAPIP protocols into their postgraduate program in Periodontics. The objective of this presentation is to discuss the efforts and collaborations that Millennium Dental Technologies has been making with multiple universities; along with the adjustments the postgraduate programs had to make to ensure that their graduates are not only clinically excellent but also trained in the latest advances in our field.
The Use of the MMPPI in Clinical Practice: Benefits in Achieving Long-Term Periodontal & Systemic Health for Our Patients

The MMPPI (Miller-McEntire Periodontal Prognosis Index) was developed by Periodontal Associates of Memphis and the Medical University of South Carolina as a system for determining periodontal prognosis using factors, such as medical history, periodontal charting, risk factors, and more, in order to enroll the patient as an active participant in treatment planning.
Drs. Miller and Levine take you through what the MMPPI is and its applications with patients, including several case studies.
Use of Biostimulation at 1064nm for the Treatment of Temporolmandibular Disorders (TMD)

Following a brief introduction to biostimulation at 1064nm, the presenters will describe the clinical protocol for diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the temporomandibular joint (TMD). In their clinical experience, they treated TMD in 33 subjects with the PerioLase® MVP-7™ and observed remarkable improvements in pain and functionality. However, too many uncontrolled variables prevent general statements of efficacy. A diagnostic treatment and data recording protocol was developed that will be described along with 4 prospective case reports.
